Description

    Brown monofilament Poly ( Glycolic - co - caprolactone ) acid

Indications

  • Digestive surgery
  • General surgery
  • Plastic surgery
  • Particularly advised for soft tissues with middle time cicatrisation
  • General surgery
  • Ophtalmological surgery
  • Obstetrical surgery

Contraindication

    MONOFIL MO® sutures should not be used where extended approximation of tissues under stress is required or in patients suffering from conditions which may delay wound healing.

Materials

  • Thread: Monofilament of polyglecaprone 25 (glycolide + caprolactone)
  • Needle: in stainless steel with different shapes and lengths adapted to the diameter of the thread.

Biodegradation

  • Loss of tensile strength: 28 days for violet and 21 for undyed
  • Total biodegradation: 90 to 120 days
